Detox for Menopause Symptoms

Women undergoing “the change”, or menopause, will tell you. It’s no fun. The symptoms associated with the cessation of ovulation and menstruation can be a nightmare: night sweats, moodiness, anxiety, and hot flashes. Conditions such as migraines and depression have been attributed to the lover levels of estrogen being produced during menopause.

Somewhere around the age of 50 in most women, though not all, the body turns off the trigger to the ovaries to produce both estrogen and progesterone. Not only is estrogen linked to fertility, but also has an impact on the cells of the heart, bladder, vagina, blood vessels, liver, skin, bones, and a number of other tissues. The body’s adjustment period to the ever-decreasing levels of estrogen is what’s known as menopause.

Until just a few years ago, the only treatments available to women going through menopause was to take hormone replacements or tough it out. But many women found the thought of developing cancer later in order to avoid menopause symptoms by using a hormone replacement therapy distasteful and began looking for alternative treatments that were both safer and had fewer side effects.

Fortunately, there are other, more natural options available. One of the more common recommendations was the use of an herbal detoxification protocol. Herbal detox allows the woman to remove heavy metals and other toxins from her system by ingesting whole herbs. Detoxification helps to balance the body and reduce the symptoms associated with menopause.

When used in conjunction with a balanced diet and moderate exercise, herbal detox has been shown to have a positive impact on a woman’s overall well being as well as a reduction if not elimination of symptoms associated with menopause. It is important to note that herbal detox can be achieved through the use of individual herbs, however using prepackaged herbal detoxification products will help ensure that you are receiving quality ingredients at levels deemed to be therapeutic and preventing unnecessary side effects.
